blogging - a health hazard

This story caught my eye. It appears that going public with a blog isn't always the best career move, despite a lot of people from Microsoft, Borland and even Google jumping on the blogging bandwagon. For instance, it appears that a Friendster (it's an Orkut lookalike) employee got fired for blogging. After reading the entry, I see that she wasn't even blogging under her real name, so it appears quite drastic. This isn't a new phenomenon, of course, see for instance this story or this one or even this one.

The moral of the story: Mind how you blog. You never do know when a policy change in your place of work is going to cause problems. Guess that applies to me too, huh ? *grin*
