On the topic of pubs, especially those in York, there is no better resource than Dan Jackson's pub guide. Knowing him fairly well, I can attest to the fact that he has, in fact, visited all the pubs he describes... and a few more not on the list.

Another interesting link I saw yesterday... and this is true for most advocacy jobs, I believe. Rob Miller (Roblimo of Slashdot) contends that "It's useless arguing with paid advocates". Just save your breath and don't bother converting marketing drones.

And finally, Google Print uses some cute CSS and HTML tricks to prevent folks from downloading pages of books. This blog entry is a very interesting starting point to how they managed this feat.
